Although Craftsman architecture is so synonymous with Pasadena, Spanish Architecture, particularly the Spanish Colonial style, is very prevalent in Pasadena. The Craftsman style began to define many residential neighborhoods of Pasadena in the early part of the 20th century, but it is the Spanish Colonial style that primarily defines the look to most of Pasadena’s city buildings as well as many commercial buildings in the cities business districts. Many beautifully built Spanish single family homes within the area are also located in the neighboring cities of Altadena and San Marino.
